Mar 16, 2005 -- Climb Leader Red Cross First Aid Training
Steve Dougherty ~ Mar 16, 2005
Fourteen climb leaders and assistants renewed their First Aid and CPR certifications in a Standard First Aid class taught at North Salem High School in the classroom of Shelley Dougherty. Shelley & Steve Dougherty along with two of Shelley's students taught the class. The CPR instruction was different this year due to the use of new manikins and due to the fact that the class was run in the classroom instead of the hallway. Instruction began at 6 p.m. and tests were completed and graded by 8:30 p.m. First Aid cards are good for three years and will need to be renewed again in 2008. The CPR card require an annual recertification. The climb committee has authorized the use of club funds at $15 per leader to cover the cost of recertification. Students were: John Petrie, Robyn Smith, Scott Phillips, Kirk Kraschel, Brad Tedrow, Paul McClellan, Tim Smith, Pam Otley, Sue Nelson, Jerry Croft, Tammee Stump, Bill Brownlee, Keith Garlinghouse, and Herb Fecker.
