The alcohol stove worked great but the plastic tarp falls into the category of: only if you need to. I will look for either a tarp with mosquito netting or the lightest tent I can manage.

I learned a lot! We continually oriented ourselves to the map and determined our location by comparing it to the terrain around us. Great Learning!

Steve is good at blending learning opportunities with the enjoyment of the experience. The length and pace of the trip was tailored to the slowest member, which was myself. This was a great reentry into backpacking!
